There are important discoveries about our past going on right under our noses. But you won't be hearing about them and their implications from the Old School Archaeologists who fear to upset the theories propounded by their predecessors that were based on limited (by our standards) evidence as to the age of certain ancient ruins and monuments and, consequently, the age of Civilization.Schoch, Bauval, the late Colin Wilson, and Graham Hancock aren't exactly gullible conspiracy theorists and neither is Mr. Collins. He is a well established writer on science AND history in the UK and has no room for fuzzy theories and silly science. He deals in the facts, ma'am. Just the facts.Ignore his books at the peril of your understanding.
Very tough going. Had to force myself thru it. Some chapters seem geared for the intelligent layman, others for academic specialists. Does he prove his case re the Denisovans? Hardly. Yet the thesis is fascinating and leaves you wanting more evidence to flesh it out. But what I really want is for Collins to take in the Saturn Reconstruction/Electric Universe insights of the Thunderbolts.info group. The whole notion of the Axis Mundi and the importance of pole stars like Deneb (Cygnus) need to be seen in light of the polar column and the catastrophes associated w/ the breakup of the Saturn system. For starters it explains why the ancients had such a fixation on the north and why so many regions have their own version of Mt Meru.
Some of idea presented are enlightening, however the holding onto the official archeologists story of the age of the pyramids, was death blow for me, from that point on took everything with a grain of salt.
part one of a fascinating subject, there is a sequel coming to do with Denisovans - North America
I read, "Genesis of the Gods, " and loved the unbiased scientific nature of Andrew Collin's books yet free-thinking. Andrew Collins is unfettered by the politics but still applies highly scientific discussions to put forward his case. These connections are profound yet highly plausible. This journey of discovery blows my mind with great possibities, which seems to be missing from current politically driven status quo science/archaeology. He and other innovators bring it back to the beginning of true discovery. Our ancestors were stupid, weren't p primitive, had time on their hands, and history is more complex and wonderfu l than limited mind can fathom.
New information and prospective. Well researched.
Great book in the beginning pages found meaning as an American remembering God led us out of Egypt by the cloud and as a Gemini of Gobekil Tepe and as an Auroraean of Illinois the Cygnus and ugly duckling turn into the Swan
This author writes well and his arguments are logically presented. I don't happen to share some of his assumptions but this book contribute to a revised understanding of the antiquity of human origins.
