I’m not even sure how to start this review. In my opinion, this story was horrible. Sydney and Jace were two of the worst main characters. Sydney had absolutely no backbone. She took what ever scraps of attention she could get from Jace and fell in love with him. She fell in love with a man who repeatedly was mean to her, forgot he asked her to come over because he was drunk and he basically used her. Have a little self worth. Jace was on his way to being a drunk. He was selfish and just an ugly person. He couldn’t even give his kids the time of day. Then when the pregnancy came, he was an even worse person. To say I was disappointed in this book is putting it mildly.
Jace Montgomery. Jace is handsome and wealthy. He is also a man who is a workaholic, heartbroken, numb, bitter, angry, anti-social and so very sad. He’s Preston Montgomery’s from “Transference†older brother. In this book “Absolution†( which is a standalone) we meet Jace and we feel his emotions. Ava has written and described a man who on the outside seems like he has it all but, on the inside he is filled with torment. Sydney White. Sydney is beautiful and intelligent she loves with all her heart and wants to help people at all cost. She has made some big mistakes regarding her romantic life and she does not want to go down that road again. When you connect with someone and it’s strong it’s hard to fight those feelings and She wants to help Jace. This is where this truly emotional love story begins. There is so much more then just Jace and Sydney, there is also his two children. They both add to the emotions of seeing and dealing with a dad that is lost. I loved “Absolution.†My tears of hurt, sadness, and joy were with me while reading. In the end I just couldn’t stop thinking of their journey. Ava, has captured me with this amazing story. It will be one of my favorite of hers. Bravo!
This book gripped my heart from the first pages and never let it go. A story of loss, heartbreak and finding love when you absolutely don’t want it, I fell in love with watching the characters discover that it is ok to be happy and loved. This book gives alternating view points - letting the reader see inside both of the characters minds and internal struggles with accepting love.Devastated by the loss of his wife, Jace Montgomery is just existing, not being the father his children need or the man he used to be. Forced to attend his brothers wedding and watch him start his happily ever after while Jace is still struggling to even make it a day without a drink numbing his existence. So the last thing Jace thinks he needs is anyone, especially a nosy women, butting into his business. Yet in walks Sydney White, a women fighting her own internal battles, someone who could possibly be the breathe that Jace doesn’t even realize he needs in his life. Sydney has made the wrong choices with men her whole life, the last being a client she hooked up with, not knowing he was married and had stalker tendencies. So when she and Jace begin to hook up, life takes them for a ride neither expected yet something they both so desperately needed, someone to fall back on and love.

Well... This then...THIS IS IN THE TOP THREE BEST BOOKS I'VE EVER READ!*Boom* *Mic drop*Okay, in all honesty, if those three statements up there don't sell this book to you then I'm unsure what more I can say apart from this book is SENSATIONAL.The writing is flawless. Reading is effortless. The story carries you away and just infiltrates every single cell inside your body! It breaks your heart, wrecks it even, but it also heals your heart in the best way possible. Ava has written two characters that are so incredible. They mesh beautifully even though they are so broken. I am just FULL. Full of love, for everything inside this book from the front cover to the back.Ava Harrison you are incredible. Ab•so•lu•tion is EVERY SINGLE THING. I loved it!
I could not connect with Sydney & Jace. Besides Sydney's connection with the kids, I did not enjoy anything else about her character. Jace's character was redeemed too late in the book for me to like him. The storyline was very predictable, and it just wasn't for me. I wanted to love this book, and I have enjoyed other books written by this author, but this book just fell short for me.
I have experienced a run of bad books recently. This book was so monotonous. The female character is weak and pathetic. The male character has no redeeming qualities. This is no romance. It’s a struggle to read. The cover gets 5 stars and the book deserves 0.
Why oh why have a waited this long to read Ava Harrison!!!!Absolution was outstanding!! It sucked me in, I could not turn the pages fast enough.Jace and Sydney’s story.... what a ride of emotions as these two navigate there journey. The family, friends and children were written so perfectly.Sydney is just a beautiful soul with such a caring heart, but her choices in the dating world have not been good. She is fierce and yet vulnerable at times.Jace is so sexy, stubborn, at times mean but you can’t help but fall hard for this man. His struggles are real, grief and guilt aren’t easy to deal with.I loved this book so very much.Well done Ava!! You made this reader a fan for life.
