They say not to judge a book by its cover, well they never said anything about introductions. I read introductions to the books to get an insight about the authors - always makes reading the book more interesting. Only this time, it was quite a different experience.The cover of the book shows "Landscape Photography. The ultimate guide to Landscape Photography at night".And the introduction quotes -" I'd like to preface this by saying that, while I am a professional photographer, I am not a landscape photographer. I do have a particular love for night photography, however,and do have experience with it."1. I would so love to get brain surgery from someone who has authored a book called "The ultimate guide to Brain Surgery" only to start the book by saying that ' while I am a professional medical doctor, I have not performed any real brain surgeries'.2. Also, in the second sentence, I think what the author meant to have a 'not' added after the 'however' - just missed it! What else would be the purpose of having that 'however' in that sentence!?Flipping thru the rest of 22 pages ( not kidding, it's actually 24 pages long - which would never have been a problem had this book had anything worth reading) of this ultimate guide, I see 8 other chapters with material I can only assume was never proof read by anyone, and written in a single night.I do not recommend this book to anyone who needs even the most basic introduction to night photography. There are far far better books out there.
